Instagrammable Places in Bandung

Bandung, Indonesia’s fourth largest city after Jakarta, Surabaya, Medan. And this city has a special place in my heart. Growing up as a Jakartan, this art & culinary city definitely had been one of the destinations that made me skipped school sometimes. Hey Bandung is only 150 km away from Jakarta and it does have great selections of street food vendor, so don’t blame me. *grin*. So yeah, Back then, back baaaack then, my friends and i would drive to Bandung to have brunch and another brunch after that, then “3rd brunch” afterwards. The time we go back to Jakarta usually at the time when we can’t find spaces for food in our belly anymore. I’m sure we are not the only Jakartans who does this. Ps: nowadays, probably it’s a better to take train ride. To avoid the horrible traffic. Ha!

Okay anyways, on my last visit to Bandung with Trip of Wonders friends, i got to check out some new places i’ve never been. It definitely inspired me to named Bandung as one the most instagrammable city in Java. Here are some instagrammable places in Bandung that you can check out!

Armor Kopi.
Nestled between three mountains, Bandung has that calming breezy weather. And it gets even better, Bandung also has TAHURA (Taman Hutan Raya, which is a Forest Park) where you can get splash of greenery not far from the city center. In this forest park, you can find three coffee places. One of them is Armor Kopi! Among those three, Armor Kopi has the most customers. You wanna know why? Do this; order a cup of coffee, get a plate of cireng with rujak sauce, find the best seat there and enjoy the moment and the fresh air (make sure you don’t sit next to people who are smoking. haha). Ps: when you order, make sure you order it under the name “Orang Kaya”. Trust me! And while you’re in TAHURA area, do make your way to Tebing Keraton for another instagrammable moment. Best time to go here is in the morning.

Vanilla Kitchen and Wine.
No, we weren’t here for the wine (maybe we should’ve? *evil laugh*). We were there at lunch time, and i think we literally spent more time on taking pictures than eating. Every corner of this place is instagrammable. Very very instagrammable. Like seriously! The whole noon, we took pictures here and there, every where. The food is delicious and i also can’t believe that they have karaoke rooms upstairs and clothing (and a bar lounge) downstairs. Total package for any hipsters.

Dusun Bambu, Family Leisure Park.
I’m pretty embarrassed to not knowing this place at all before. This place is quite cool. So if you like going to Sapu Lidi, Kampung Daun, Floating Market Lembang, then you will love this place! It has the same concept, that nature and open space theme. Order some local cuisine and enjoy your delicious meal as your eyes feast on the mesmerizing view. Best time to go here? Probably in the afternoon just before sunset time.

Saung Angklung Udjo – Traditional Bamboo Music Performance
Apart from its Angklung performances, SAU definitely has one the most interactive show in Indonesia. Fun and educational at the same time. No, it’s not just for kids, it’s for any age. And for an extra note, i love the way they are keeping the local culture going by doing this, opening their workshop for public. Don’t be skeptical, just give it a try. It will definitely be one of the highlights of your holiday. Ps: no it wasn’t my first visit here, and i do still love this place.
